Playoff Ranks Released

So as you can probably tell, The Internet's ranks don't quite matchup with the newly released college football playoff rank score.  But it could've.  A tweak here, a tweak there, and they aren't that far off (although there isn't a formula that The Internet maintains that doesn't rank Clemson first).

Instead of matching ranks, The Internet decided that it was important to tell the story of what its top 25 teams were.  You'll probably notice that the ranks are pretty closely tied to the Elo of teams, which is because The Internet is very confident in it at the moment.  There were only a few slight tweaks that it made.

Next week, The Internet will likely swing back to its normal methods, as Elo's reliablity starts to fall apart again after teams start to enter their late season bye weeks and out of conference cupcakes, and the other formulas are certainly important in a macro sense. The Internet maintains, though, that when you really need to know what teams are ranked when things are really mucked, Elo is a good guide.
